Everything you need to get started with PixellPeep visual QA automation platform

Getting started

1. Create a project

Open Projects and create one to keep related comparisons together (e.g. "Marketing site").

2. Upload two images

Go to Compare, add your original (baseline) image on the left and the new version on the right.

3. Run the comparison

Click Compare. PixellPeep highlights anything that changed between the two images.

4. Review the result

See the differences highlighted, with a score showing how much changed.

Comparing images

Pick a comparison style

Choose how strict the check is — exact pixels, overall look, or colour changes. Defaults work for most people.

Adjust sensitivity

Higher catches tiny changes; lower ignores minor rendering differences. Start in the middle.

Switch highlight views

Toggle between heatmap, overlay, and boxes to see changes the way that suits you best.

Zoom in

Click any highlighted area to look closer at exactly what moved or changed.

Bulk comparison

Why use it

Check many image pairs in one go instead of uploading them one at a time.

Download the template

On the Bulk compare page, download the ready-made list and fill in your image pairs.

Upload everything together

Add your original images, the new images, and the filled-in list, then start the run.

Get one combined result

All pairs are gathered into a single report you can review and export.

Reports & sharing

Full history

Every comparison is saved under Reports so you can look back at any time.

Filter and search

Narrow results by project or date to find the run you need.

Export a PDF or spreadsheet

Download a tidy report to attach to a ticket or send to your team.

Get alerts automatically

Set up Slack, Teams, or Jira so you are told the moment something changes.

Design Fidelity (Figma auto-capture)

Connect a screen to Figma

Tell PixellPeep which Figma frame is the "correct" look for each screen of your app.

Add the capture snippet

A small piece of code screenshots your live app automatically as people use it.

Get graded results

Each screen is compared to its design and findings are labelled — colour, spacing, font, missing or extra elements.

Hear about real drift

Get a Slack or email alert only when a screen genuinely strays from the design.

Settings setup guides

Step-by-step instructions to configure and test each integration from Settings.

Common questions

What kinds of images can I compare?

Screenshots of web pages, app screens, or designs work best. Upload a PNG or JPG of the original and one of the new version, and PixellPeep shows what changed.

Why does it flag a difference when nothing looks wrong?

Usually the two images were captured at slightly different sizes. Try to capture both at the same screen size, or lower the sensitivity so small rendering differences are ignored.

How do I get told automatically when something changes?

Set up an alert on the Settings page — PixellPeep can message you in Slack or Microsoft Teams, or create a Jira ticket, the moment a difference is found.

Can my whole team use the same projects?

Yes. Create an organization under Settings → Teams and invite your colleagues by email so everyone sees the same projects.

Can I share results with someone who doesn't use PixellPeep?

Yes. Open any report and download it as a PDF or spreadsheet to attach to a ticket or email.

How do I check my live app still matches its Figma design?

Use Design Fidelity. You connect each screen to its Figma frame once, add a small capture snippet to your app, and PixellPeep automatically grades real screenshots against the design — flagging colour, spacing, font, and missing-element drift. See the Design Fidelity setup guide above.

Will Design Fidelity capture private user data?

Only if you let it. You can black out any element (like card numbers or emails) before the screenshot is even taken using maskSelectors, mask out regions on the baseline, and control capture with sampling and a consent switch.

Are you a developer?

PixellPeep has a REST API, a command-line tool, and a GitHub Action so you can run comparisons automatically in your build pipeline.
